  Title Turbidity Meter
Abstract Turbidity is a measurement of the amount of light scattered within a fluid sample, indicating the particulate matter concentration suspended in a fluid. Turbidity plays an important role in water quality, as high levels are an indicator of diminished aquatic habitat. A turbidity meter is used to monitor the turbidity of a given fluid. Most turbidity meters are bulky, expensive, and require separate sample vessels. This often prevents them from being used as a measure of erosion effects on streams and rivers. The MSP430 can be used as a low power, low cost ($50-100), self-contained turbidity and temperature measurement tool. The MSP430 in combination with its peripherals are ideal for this application, due to its low power features. The design uses the MSP430F42X0 as the core plus sev
